The organising committee of the 2010 European Platelet and Granulocyte Immunobiology Symposium has decided to create a new biennial award to honour Alan Waters who was a founding member of this group.

This award will be granted to a young researcher who is the first author and presenter of the highest-scoring abstract submitted.
